One Hundred Li of Rhododendrons

Baili Dujuan, literally "one hundred li (a Chinese unit of distance, equal to 500 meters) of rhododendrons", is a national forest park and a provincial scenic area. It is known as "a color ribbon of the earth", "a kingdom of rhododendrons", "a land for health preservation", "a cool world" and "a natural garden of the world". It has won over 20 honors, including "China's Outstanding Eco-Tourism Destination Worthiest of Recommendation by Embassies in China" and "National Low-carbon Tourism Experimental Zone". This is where you can not only find a sea of brilliant rhododendrons, but also experience the culture and customs of the Yi people on the Wumeng Grassland. In the core zone, there are more than 40 varieties of rhododendrons in six of the nine subgenera in the world. From March to May every year, the mountains here would be completely covered in rhododendrons of all kinds that contend in beauty and fascination.

百里杜鵑

百里杜鵑是國(guó)家級(jí)森林公園、省級(jí)風(fēng)景名勝區(qū),素有“地球彩帶,杜鵑王國(guó),養(yǎng)生福地,清涼世界”“世界天然大花園”等美譽(yù)。先后獲得“最值得駐華大使館向世界推薦的中國(guó)優(yōu)秀生態(tài)旅游目的地”“全國(guó)低碳旅游實(shí)驗(yàn)區(qū)”等20余項(xiàng)殊榮,它既是覽略百里爛漫杜鵑花海,擁有“花間阡陌,山水歸程”的詩意畫卷、洗凈都市纖塵的“花之天堂,心之曠野”之所,也是體會(huì)烏蒙原生態(tài)民族文化風(fēng)情、探幽攬勝的“杜鵑花鄉(xiāng)、彝疆古域”。其中百里杜鵑核心花區(qū)的杜鵑花,有世界杜鵑花9個(gè)亞屬中的6個(gè)亞屬共40多個(gè)品種。每年三月至五月,各種杜鵑花爭(zhēng)奇斗艷、鋪山蓋嶺,有“地球彩帶、杜鵑王國(guó)”之美譽(yù)。
