The spirit of the Long March

From October 1934 to October 1936, the CPC followed its own strategy by leading the main forces of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army on a trek of 25,000 li (12,500 km) from its bases in south China to the Party's enclave in northern Shaanxi Province. Known as the "Long March," this epic effort created a legacy of revolutionary idealism and started a new great march toward national independence and people's liberation.

This is a spirit of strong beliefs, of fearless resolution to surmount difficulties at any cost, of firm discipline, and of Party unity. 

長(zhǎng)征精神

1934年10月至1936年10月的兩年時(shí)間里,中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下的中國(guó)工農(nóng)紅軍主力,行程二萬(wàn)五千里,完成了從長(zhǎng)江下游各根據(jù)地向位于西北內(nèi)陸的陜北革命根據(jù)地的戰(zhàn)略大轉(zhuǎn)移。紅軍長(zhǎng)征書(shū)寫(xiě)了戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)史詩(shī),譜寫(xiě)了精神史詩(shī),鑄就了長(zhǎng)征精神,開(kāi)啟了中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨為實(shí)現(xiàn)民族獨(dú)立、人民解放而斗爭(zhēng)的新的偉大進(jìn)軍。

長(zhǎng)征精神,就是把全國(guó)人民和中華民族的根本利益看得高于一切,堅(jiān)定革命的理想和信念,堅(jiān)信正義事業(yè)必然勝利的精神;就是為了救國(guó)救民,不怕任何艱難險(xiǎn)阻,不惜付出一切犧牲的精神;就是堅(jiān)持獨(dú)立自主、實(shí)事求是,一切從實(shí)際出發(fā)的精神;就是顧全大局、嚴(yán)守紀(jì)律、緊密團(tuán)結(jié)的精神;就是緊緊依靠人民群眾,同人民群眾生死相依、患難與共、艱苦奮斗的精神。長(zhǎng)征精神是中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨人及其領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的人民軍隊(duì)革命風(fēng)范的生動(dòng)反映,是中華民族自強(qiáng)不息的民族品格的集中展示,是以愛(ài)國(guó)主義為核心的民族精神的最高體現(xiàn)。
