The spirit of Xibaipo

Xibaipo is a small village in the mountains in Hebei Province. From May 1948 to March 1949, it served as the center of the leadership of the revolution and the supreme command headquarters of the Communist-led People's Liberation Army. From there the CPC emerged from the mountains to win ultimate victory and then found the People's Republic. This historic sequence of events gave rise to the "Xibaipo spirit."

The spirit of Xibaipo was defined by Mao Zedong at the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh CPC Central Committee, held in the village in April 1949, the gist of which is "to remain modest and prudent, struggle on tirelessly, and rely on the people to attain solidarity and unity."

西柏坡精神

西柏坡原是中國河北省一個普通的小山村。但在1948年5月至1949年3月間,這里成為了當時中國革命的領(lǐng)導中心,成為人民解放軍的最高統(tǒng)帥部。從這里,中國共產(chǎn)黨走出深山,走向全國勝利,完成了中華人民共和國的創(chuàng)建。正是在這樣一個特殊而又重要的歷史轉(zhuǎn)折時期,中國共產(chǎn)黨形成了西柏坡精神。這一精神是毛澤東在西柏坡召開的中共七屆二中全會上提出的,主要內(nèi)涵包括:謙虛謹慎、艱苦奮斗;敢于斗爭、敢于勝利;依靠群眾、團結(jié)統(tǒng)一。
