Promoting Social Equity and Justice 

Equity and Justice is an essential part of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and it is a lofty goal of the Communist Party of China. China has stepped up its efforts to build up institutions that play an important role in the protection of social equity and justice, with the goal of putting in place over time a social justice protection system based on equity in rights, obligations, opportunities and rules, in a fair social environment where everyone enjoys the equal right to participation and development. 

CPC and state leaders have set important targets for the protection of social equity and justice. In November 2013, for instance, Xi Jinping indicated in his note on the CPC Decision on a Few Major Issues in Further Reform in Different Areas that "a fair competitive environment" and "further progress in achieving social equity and justice" should be important targets as China implements further reform in all respects. On another occasion in January 2014 at the CPC Political and Legal Work Conference, Xi Jinping emphasized that social equity and justice is a core value that we must pursue in our political and legal work, and the ultimate protector of the judicial system. 

促進社會公平正義

公平正義是中國特色社會主義的內(nèi)在要求，是中國共產(chǎn)黨追求的一個十分崇高的價值目標。中國正在加緊建設(shè)對保障社會公平正義具有重大作用的制度，逐步建立以權(quán)利公平、機會公平、規(guī)則公平為主要內(nèi)容的社會公平保障體系，努力營造公平的社會環(huán)境，保證人民平等參與、平等發(fā)展的權(quán)利。黨和國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人對促進社會公平正義提出了很多要求。例如，2013年11月，習近平在《中共中央關(guān)于全面深化改革若干重大問題的決定》說明中，將“進一步形成公平競爭的發(fā)展環(huán)境”“進一步實現(xiàn)社會公平正義”視為全面深化改革的關(guān)鍵內(nèi)容。2014年1月，習近平在中央政法工作會議上強調(diào)，促進社會公平正義是政法工作的核心價值追求，司法機關(guān)是維護社會公平正義的最后一道防線。
