Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was formally inaugurated at its first Ministerial Conference in October 2000 in Beijing, upon the joint initiative of China and Africa. It aims to further strengthen friendly cooperation between China and African countries to meet the challenges of economic globalization in search of common prosperity.

The FOCAC promotes understanding, consensus-building, friendship and collaboration through consultation on the basis of equality.

FOCAC members include China, the 53 African states that have established diplomatic relations with China, and the Commission of the African Union. The FOCAC Ministerial Conference is held every three years, and to date six conferences have been convened.

At the opening of the FOCAC Summit in Johannesburg (South Africa) on December 4, 2015, President Xi Jinping announced that the China-African new-type strategic partnership would be upgraded to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. He also proposed 10 plans to boost cooperation with Africa in the areas of industrialization, agricultural modernization, infrastructure, financial services, green development, trade and investment facilitation, poverty reduction and public welfare, public health, people-to-people exchanges, and peace and security.

The FOCAC Summit held in Beijing in September 2018 promotes further cooperation for win-win results and shared development. It is beneficial to South-South Cooperation and global partnership, and instills positivity to world peace, stability and development.

中非合作論壇

為進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)中國與非洲國家的友好合作，共同應(yīng)對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化挑戰(zhàn)，謀求共同發(fā)展，在中非雙方共同倡議下，“中非合作論壇——北京2000年部長(zhǎng)級(jí)會(huì)議”于2000年10月在京召開，標(biāo)志著中非合作論壇正式成立。

該論壇的宗旨是平等互利、平等磋商、增進(jìn)了解、擴(kuò)大共識(shí)、加強(qiáng)友誼、促進(jìn)合作。成員包括中國、與中國建交的53個(gè)非洲國家以及非洲聯(lián)盟委員會(huì)。中非合作論壇部長(zhǎng)級(jí)會(huì)議每3年舉行一屆，目前已舉辦六屆。

2015年12月4日，在中非合作論壇約翰內(nèi)斯堡峰會(huì)開幕式上，習(xí)近平主席代表中國政府宣布將中非新型戰(zhàn)略伙伴關(guān)系提升為全面戰(zhàn)略合作伙伴關(guān)系，提出與非洲在工業(yè)化、農(nóng)業(yè)現(xiàn)代化、基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施、金融、綠色發(fā)展、貿(mào)易和投資便利化、減貧惠民、公共衛(wèi)生、人文、和平和安全等領(lǐng)域共同實(shí)施“十大合作計(jì)劃”，規(guī)劃了中非務(wù)實(shí)合作的新藍(lán)圖。2018年9月，中非合作論壇峰會(huì)在北京舉行，在更高水平上實(shí)現(xiàn)了中非合作共贏、共同發(fā)展，也有利于促進(jìn)南南合作和全球伙伴關(guān)系發(fā)展，為世界和平、穩(wěn)定與發(fā)展注入正能量。
