The Beijing Hotel is building a US$ 9,000 a night suite fit for an emperor incorporating the architectural style of the Forbidden City.
The suite is US$ 1,000 pricier than the hotel's current most expensive French-style presidential suite, reported the Beijing Morning Post.
Covering nearly 500 square kilometers, the imperial suite is located in the western part of the seventeenth floor of the hotel's east building.
All rooms of the suite are built with expensive, dark-colored wood.
The rooms are named after those in the Forbidden City, where Chinese emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty (1368-1911) lived.
The newspaper said that work will soon be finished on the costly suite, which will only be open to VIPs.
