A 40.8 kilometer-long and U-shaped city railway which starts from Xi Zhimen, passes Xueyuanlu, Dazhongsi and Qinhuayuan and ends at Dongzhimen will be put into use at the beginning of next year, according to Capital Railway Project Direction Department.
The city railway is the longest in China. The first-phase construction of the raliway has been completed and the station is under fitup now. The construction was started at the end of 1999.
