Six peacocks have found their living easy in the No.2 Power Plant of Anshan Steel Group, in northeast China's Anshan city.
A huge cage has been set up in the plant to accommodate the six peacocks donated by a local bird garden last year. They live together with a number of pigeons and golden pheasants presented by workers.
The peacocks have gained weight and have laid more than 20 eggs over the past year.
Peacocks require a clean living environment and cannot survive if the environment is severely polluted, according to experts.
The power plant has made great efforts in recent years to improve the environment with technological reforms. Workers of the plant and local residents have valued the plant's green efforts highly.
The Chinese government has promoted clean production for the past decade. A draft law on clean production, aimed at lessening damage to the environment, is currently under examination by the state's highest legislature.
