The Ministry of Construction in the near future will issue instructional papers on ecological homes, helping residents, builders and real estate developers know better the standard for a new type of housing, Shanghai Youth Daily reported Tuesday.
The document is now being drafted and will be most probably finished next month, officials said. It will make the concept and contents of an ecological home clear, officials said. Although many people talk about ecological buildings nowadays, few really know it, they said.
Many real estate developers falsely claim that their projects are ecological when only offering grasslands and parks beside residences.
The standard for ecological homes, however, is rather complicated, officials said, including requirements of adequate quality of energy, water, temperature, light, air, building materials, waste treatment, landscape and so on.
