Out of every 1,000 urban households in east China's Zhejiang Province, one of the country’s leading economic centers, 364 had bought computers by the end of June, according to a sample survey conducted by the provincial statistics bureau.
Among the families with computers, 17.6 percent have gone online, compared to 10.5 percent at the end of last year.
Taizhou leads all local cities with 38 percent of local families connected to the Internet, followed by Shaoxing with 34 percent, Wenzhou with 25 percent and 24 percent in Hangzhou, capital of the province.
