World Bank International Trade Director Uri Dadush said Wednesday that China can greatly contribute to the negotiations of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In an interview with Xinhua, Dadush said the current WTO negotiations have encountered difficulties and the negotiations need more participation of China.
China can be a big voice for developing countries and more voice of China should be heard, said Dadush, adding that China is important in all issues in WTO negotiations including those about agriculture and service.
As to the improvement China has achieved over the past year since China's entry into the WTO, Dadush said China is making very successful adjustment to meet WTO commitments and it has made the transfer an important part of its domestic reform, said Dadush.
As a leading trade official of the World Bank, Dadush is highly optimistic about China's future trade development. He said the Great China area, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, will become the world's No. 1 trading economy in 15 to 20 years instead of the current ranking of No. 4 behind the United States, Germany and Japan.
