A public bid for the adoption rights to five giant pandas will be held in December in the city of Fuzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province.

Xinhua News Agency reported that people can visit Fuzhou Panda World and apply for the bid.

According to the Fuzhou Giant Panda Research Centre, the basic price for yearly adoption is 40 to 100 thousand yuan (around US$5,360 to 13,400), and 200 to 500 thousand yuan for lifetime adoption (around US$26,800 to 67,000).
