Zhang Wenyue, secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of Liaoning Province
Native of Pucheng, Fujian Province, Zhang was born in October 1944. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in June 1965 and began working in September 1967 after a university education.
1968-1969: Worked on the military farm of Unit 4628 of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).
1969-1980: Technician of No.1 and No. 3 Geology Groups and section chief of geological group and mining area under the Sichuan Provincial Geology Bureau; director of geological section 101 Branch.
1980-1981: President of Chuanxi Geology Institute.
1981-1983: Technician head of No.1 Geology Group 101 Branch under the Sichuan Provincial Geology Bureau and technician head of No. 2 Geology Group West Sichuan Geology Branch; head of the Northwest Sichuan Geology Branch.
1983-1984: Deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Geological Mineral Bureau.
1984-1986: Director of the Sichuan Provincial Geological Mineral Bureau.
1986-1989: Director of the general office and secretary of the Party Committee for the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and member of its Leading Party Members' Group.
1989-1990: Member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, director of the State Administration on Mineral Resources and secretary of its Leading Party Members' Group, deputy director of the National Committee of Mineral Resources.
1990-1995: Vice minister of geology and mineral resources and member of its Leading Party Members' Group.
1995-1997: Deputy secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC.
1997-1999: Deputy secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC and commanding officer of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
1999-2001: Deputy secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC and executive vice chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region government.
2001-2003: Deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPC.
2003-February 2004: Deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPC, chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
February 2004: Elected vice governor and acting governor of Liaoning Province at the ninth session of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress.
February 27, 2004: Elected governor of Liaoning Province at the fourth meeting of the second session of the 10th Liaoning Provincial People's Congress.
October 2007: Appointed secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPC by the Central Committee.
Delegate to the Thirteenth through Sixteenth National Congress of the CPC; Member of the Fourteenth Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC; Member of the Fifteenth CPC Central Committee; Alternate member of the Sixteenth CPC Central Committee and Member of the Seventeenth CPC Central Committee.
