The accounting agency sector in China enjoys rapid development while requiring prompt solutions to many problems.
The Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association put forward this proposal suggesting that the state standardize and support the sector by issuing coherent regulations as soon as possible, setting up an administrative system centered on credit management and implementing policies to encourage self-discipline and development.
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for this proposal and responded to questions on the accounting agency sector.
It said that the Law on Certified Public Accountants in 1993 boosted healthy development while problems like low levels of public trust and unfavorable operating environments hindered the sector’s further growth.
Following requests from the State Council, the Ministry of Finance revised and amended the relevant regulations and examined the Law on Certified Public Accountants to improve industry supervision provisions.
Its reply also stressed the need to strengthen credibility, self-discipline and administrative supervision of accounting agencies to aid the development of the socialist market economy.
