Beijing is considering to follow Shanghai's suit to build its magnetic levitation train line linking the Beijing International Airport and the city's eastern Dongzhimeng, betting to shorten the trip between the remote airport and the downtown area, the Beijing Evening News reported as citing the capital's urban projects designing institution.
When the 26-kilometer long line completes, it would be only a 7 minutes' trip to travel between the two ends.
As planned, the elevated rail line will start from the transportation center in Dongzhimeng, touring north along the metro line, and switching northeast at the Wangjing residential area, and then heading for to the airport.
Currently, the high-speed train plan is still under discussion, and the final draft will be settled until the middle this month, according to the Beijing Evening News.
