Nine people were killed in a coal mine cave-in accident Feb. 28 afternoon in Huainan City of east China's Anhui Province, according to the headquarters of the city's public security bureau.

The accident occurred at a waste rock hill in the Xinji Coal Mine, which is situated at the Fengtai County of Huainan. Rescue work is getting underway.

No more details on the accident are available so far.

Just on Friday, another mine collapse happened at about 10 a.m. in the Shuangfeng Fluorite Mine at Lijinwu Village in east China's Zhejiang Province when 15 miners were working in a shaft 180 meters underground. Two miners were killed and 13 others were rescued later in the day.
