Ji Xu, the first male dry nurse got his vocational certificate, the Beijing Morning Post reported Monday.
Ji Xu, together with another 125 female dry nurses, got their vocational certificates at the Beijing vocational guidance center Sunday, the paper said.
Ji said, "I plan to give lectures on baby care to those men who will become fathers soon."
Ji joined the training program for his own baby, but after the training, he began to have a keen interest in baby care.
One hundred and forty-seven trainees including Ji have joined in the training program and 126 passed the exams. All the qualified day nurses will take up their jobs during the Spring Festival, the paper said.
Only a few dry nurses have certificates but after the systematic training, they can have an average monthly salary approximately 1,500 yuan (US$187.5) to 2,000 yuan (US$250), according to the paper.
