Seventeen children of HIV-infected mothers in central China's Henan Province have all been declared healthy after one and half years of testing.
Health officials say it means preventing AIDS transmission from infected mothers to their babies in the province has been a complete success.
Last year, the province invested over 10 million yuan or US$1.2 million into programs aimed at preventing AIDS transmission from infected mothers to their children.
More than 270,000 women have been tested. Among them, 130 pregnant women were found to be HIV-positive and later received free treatment and prevention tips.
So far, results from the 17 children who underwent testing have come up HIV-negative.
