Scientists have found that persimmon plays an important role in maintaining a healthy heart. The daily intake of a middle-size persimmon, about 100 grams, may greatly reduce the risks of cardiovascular disease such as heart disease and stroke.

This may be attributed to the high amount of anti-oxidants contained in persimmons. Further the fiber in persimmons is twice as high as that in apples. This fruit is also rich in other mineral elements such as calcium, iron and magnesium.

Dried persimmon tea

Prepare one dried persimmon, one mangosteen and one seed of bout-fruited steculia. Steam the dried persimmon for 15 minutes and cut into pieces. Mix the pieces with mashed mangosteen and bout-fruited steculia, and then add hot water.

This slightly bittersweet drink is good for moisturizing your throat to relieve tickles and coughing, it also alleviates constipation. The white powder on the surface of the dried persimmons has a special effect of removing heat in the blood and inside organs.

However, those with digestive problems or diabetes should not consume too much of this fruit. If you are hungry or tired, you should also avoid eating this fruit as it may hurt your stomach.
