South Korea's presidential envoy Lim Dong-Won held talks in Pyongyang Friday with the secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of the Democratic People'sRepublic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong-Sun, said South Korean officials in Seoul.
In Friday's talks, Lim Dong-Won and Kim Yong-Sun discussed unresolved issues between the two sides, the South Korean media quoted an anonymous official as saying.
The unnamed official said there were some difficulties during the bilateral talks, but the situation was getting better and the two sides would issue a joint statement declaring agreement in thetalks.
South Korea and DPRK also agreed to resume visits of families separated by the 1950-1953 Korean War and meetings of the South-North Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee, said the South Korean official.
He also said Lim Dong-Won, senior adviser on security and foreign affairs for South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung, will return to Seoul through the truce village of Panmunjom on Saturdaymorning, one day later than scheduled due to the ongoing talks.
Lim Dong-Won, who arrived in Pyongyang on Wednesday, met with the top leader of DPRK, Kim Jong-Il, on Thursday night and delivered a letter from President Kim Dae-Jung.
