Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan met Sunday in New York with the President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf, with both sides speaking highly of bilateral relations.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the general debate of the 56th UN General Assembly session, which began Saturday at the UN headquarters in New York.
Tang and Musharraf shared the view that the friendly relationship between the two neighboring countries is lasting and endurable.
Tang said that the Chinese government fully support the Pakistani government in its efforts to fight terrorism, and is ready to help relieving the pressure faced by the Pakistani government.
Congratulating China on its entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), Musharraf said China's entry will undoubtedly help in revitalizing the world economy.
The Chinese foreign minister also met with foreign ministers from Romania, Iran, Russia, the Netherlands, Italy and France.
