The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC) issued a notice Wednesday to levy a temporary anti-dumping tax on methlyene chloride imports from six countries.
The charge will affect imports of the chemical from Britain, the United States, the Netherlands, France, Germany and the Republic of Korea.
The MOFTEC started investigating the case on December 20 and decided companies from these countries have dumped the product with degrees varying from 7 percent to 75 percent.
The State Economic and Trade Commission also gave a primary verdict that such imports have done substantial damage to domestic industries.
China had 10 anti-dumping cases against foreign producers so far.
The other nine include press paper, cold-rolled silicon steel sheets, polyester film, cool-rolled stainless steel sheets, acrylic polyester, polystyrene, L-lysine monohydrocyloride used in foodstuff, polyester chips and polyester staple fibres.
China has decided to levy anti-dumping taxes in three of these cases: the press paper, the cold-rolled silicon steel sheets and polyester film.
