The Ministry of Public Security will loosen control over driving licenses, the ministry has revealed.
The ministry is seeking public opinion on a draft version on the reformed measures of vehicle management, which it has publicized on its Web site.
According to the draft, the age limit on driving license holders will be extended to 70 years from 60. License holders older than 70 can still drive if they are in good health. The examination frequency will be reduced for passenger vehicles carrying nine people or less. Non-commercial passenger vehicles need to be examined only once every two years within six years of registration.
License applications will be simplified for those who have lost their licenses. The time for processing a new license will be shortened to three working days from more than 30 days.
