Macau police have requested Interpol's help for the arrest of the murderer of a Thai tycoon, who was killed on April 18 in Hotel Lisboa, the territory's biggest casino, according to police sources.
A police spokesman said that Macau police have obtained "important clues" in the case. They have requested Interpol's help for the arrest of the suspect, who was pictured to be a stunt man speaking Mandarin.
Investigations found that the man fled across the border after carrying out the murder of a tourism and real estate tycoon, Shi Hian Chen. His accomplice met him at the border gate, and took the 7 million patacas (US$843,000) worth of swag, including counters from the casino.
The police bureau in Guangdong Province has received Interpol's notification to cooperate in the murder case investigation.
Chen was found bounded and dead in his room at the hotel by a hotel cleaner on Friday afternoon. One of his assistants, bounded and mouth-sealed, was not critically hurt.
His body was airlifted to Thailand accompanied by his wife and sons on Saturday.
