Road of Revival, an exhibition illustrating the ups and downs of China since 1840, had attracted 82,986 visitors by Tuesday since it opened last Saturday, according to the organizers.
The exhibition showcases the important historical events that Chinese people have experienced since 1840 when China was forced to open its doors to foreign powers after being defeated in the Opium Wars.
More than 1,000 messages have been written in the 11 notebooks at the exhibition held in the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution in Beijing, the organizers said.
"History and reality have proved that only the Communist Party of China (CPC) can save China," read a message left by Xing Youqing, a senior citizen of more than 80 years old.
Containing thousands of pictures, historical archives, relics and models, the exhibition is divided into five chapters according to different time periods and stresses that only the CPC and socialism with Chinese characteristics could have led the Chinese on the road of revival.
The exhibition, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, will be open to the public for about two months.
