The quintuplets, who named after the five Fuwa, celebrate their fourth birthday on Wednesday.

The first quintuplets born in the city of Xinxiang in central China have been named after the five Fuwa, the mascots for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying and Nini were named by their parents on their fourth birthday on Wednesday.

The quintuplets, two boys and three girls, have been separated since birth but were reunited for their birthday.

Their mother, Jiao Na, says the five children have placed a huge financial burden on their family. They have had to live with different relatives and were not named until Wednesday.

Despite the hardships they endure, the parents of the quintuplets say they are looking forward to the big games next year.

The first syllable from the five mascots' names combine to form the Chinese expression for "welcome to Beijing."

Many Chinese people are proud of Beijing's successful bid to hold the 2008 Olympics.
