Strong snowfall will continue to slam northeastern China in the next 10 days, and a cold front will cut temperatures in the northern area and bring powerful winds around March 10, China Youth Daily reported today.
The strongest snowstorm in 56 years began sweeping northeast China's Liaoning Province since last Saturday and lasted for days, disrupting air and road traffic.
Qin Dahe, chief of the China Meteorological Administration, said yesterday that the snowstorm formed when this year's especially active warm air current encountered a cold front.
The next cold front won't be as strong as the former, or the severity of the snowfall, said Ren Guoyu, a researcher of the administration.
In the next few days, southern China areas will encounter more rainy days.
