Sulfuric Acid Tanker Sinks in Yangtze River

A cargo ship loaded with 465 tons of sulfuric acid sank and capsized in Yangtze River early on Sunday morning.

The incident has reportedly not resulted in any deaths or water contamination, according to sources with the China Maritime Rescue Center in Beijing.

The ship was a transporting vessel from Suqian City in east China's Jiangsu Province. It ran into reefs and sank with three people onboard at about 03:40 AM Sunday.

One of the three people has been rescued and sent to hospital, and the other two are still missing. Three vessels from the local maritime affairs department continue to search for them.
