China's week-long National Day holiday is just around the corner, and various transport authorities around the country have been busy preparing for the expected traffic crunch.
The Ministry of Communication predicts that some 30 million passengers will board buses and coaches starting Monday through to October 7.
Local bus stations have increased the number of runs and extended working hours to ensure smooth travelling.
Meanwhile, Beijing has added more buses to cope with the crush of people heading to the Great Wall and other popular sightseeing sites. Civil air administrations have approved 2,700 extra flights during the holiday period.
In the capital, where the busiest routes are to Sichuan's Jiuzhaigou Valley and Tibet, tickets sold out weeks ago.
