China's northern port city Tianjin plans to restart the construction of its tallest building soon, and the 300-meter-high Tianjin Trade Center Tower will be the third-tallest building in China.
The tallest buildings in China are the 420.5-meter-high Jinmao Tower in Shanghai, and the 384-meter Diwang (King of Land) Commercial Mansion in the south China city of Shenzhen.
Located at Xiaobailou central business district on Nanjing Road, Tianjin, the new skyscraper is composed of an 80-storey main tower, a 39-storey double tower and a 14-storey side building, with a total construction area of 260,000 square meters.
According to the Tianjin-based construction company building the project, the Trade Center Tower will be the only pure steel construction in Tianjin, with a total of 36,000 tons of imported steel.
The finished Trade Center Tower will serve as a center for shopping, entertainment, flats, offices, hotels, conferences and exhibition sites.
Work on the project has been stalled for three years, with no explanation released. The construction company said it will need three years to finish the construction of the high building.
