The rescue work on the ship collision on Thursday morning off the shore of the northeast China's Lushun city has basically completed, said local official in the evening.
Three boats still remain at the accident site in case the oil leak may pollute the sea, said Guo Zirui, deputy director with the Maritime Affairs Bureau of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The ROK Saehan Galaxy ship, carrying liquefied gas, collided with the Chinese cargo ship Jingan No.6 around 6:30 am Thursday morning.
The Chinese cargo sank and one crew on board was dead, another was missing and other 17 were saved and in safe condition.
The Chinese cargo ship with a tonnage of 4,987 and 19 crew aboard carries 60 tons of heavy oil, 20 tons of machine oil and four tons of lubricating oil, according to the rescue center.
