Samsung Electronics, the world's top mobile phone maker, says it will begin next month supplying handsets that run on a Java operating system to China Unicom.
China Unicom is the mainland's second-largest wireless company.
The SCH-X859 phone was designed to meet China Unicom's push to expand the use of Java-based cell phone applications.
