A large oil and natural gas field with a reserve of 50 billion cubic meters of oil and gas has lately been found by China National Petrochemical Group (CNPG) in Dabashan, Xuanhan, Sichuan, according to People’s Daily (overseas edition).
Experts told that back in the 1970s geological survey had already started by CNPG in Dabashan, a mountainous area in the county of Xuanhan, Sichuan Province.
Data showed that it took CNPG nearly 30 years’ intensive survey and prospecting, with up-to-date technology and a large technical force formed of four teams from Shengli, Jianghan and Yunnan-Guizhou-Guangxi oilfields and southwest China Petroleum Administration, to have the Dabashan oil-gas field found.
It is reported that the discovery of the amount of 50 billion cubic meters of oil and gas reserves will help to push the western economic construction and bolstering up local economy in Sichuan.
