The Italian Cosmetic Industry viewed the Chinese mainland as one of its most important markets in the world, Gianfranco Di Natale, director-general of the Italian Association of Cosmetic Industries, told Xinhua Friday.
"The Chinese mainland, India and Russia are the three markets which we want to tap most," he said, adding that the large population and rapid economic growth make the Chinese mainland a very attractive marketplace.
Natale came to Hong Kong for the Cosmoprof Asia 2002 held from Wednesday to Friday at the Convention and Exhibition Center. He said this Hong Kong beauty fair is very important for Italian companies to get more experience in doing business in Hong Kong and mainland.
About 50 Italian cosmetics manufacturers attended this year's fair, among which 25 have already had their products sold in mainland while the others are keen to find more contacts to tap the mainland market, he said.
