High-tech Exhibits to Benefit Agricultural Sector
An agricultural technology and products exhibition will display China's latest agriculture achievements during the fifth Beijing International High-tech Industries Week from May 23 to 28.

The exhibition is expected to be a showcase for the country's development of agriculture technology, which is viewed as the fundamental solution for China's agricultural industry with its engagement in free international trade.

According to the organizing committee, various high-tech agricultural programs ranging from cultivation methods to farm product processing will outline an exciting picture of modern agriculture.

The 12,000-square meter showroom will include exhibits on genetic engineering, biotechnology and agricultural intelligence.

An exchange of agricultural techniques, farm produce promotion and trade talks will also entertain viewers and exhibitors during the week-long exhibition.

Except for domestic delegations, the exhibitions have attracted more than 30 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions.

As the host of the exhibition, Beijing takes up nearly half of the exhibition area. Several districts in the capital will hold special shows for their well-known farm products, including cherries from the Haidian District and watermelons from the Daxing District.

"Compared with previous sessions, we will extend our coverage from high-tech technology to commerce sectors, such as international trade talks, co-operation and exchange of goods," said Zhang Guizhong with the organizing committee.

Besides the modern agriculture exhibition, the upcoming High-tech week will offer various expos, including those on telecommunications, environmental protection and clean energies, new materials, biological projects, space information technology, modern education and the media.
