China's Individual Book Sellers Say No to Piracy
Some 136 individual booksellers in Shandong province recently organized an anti-piracy union to fight against copyright infringement activities.

All of the booksellers work out of the Jinan Ying Xiong Shan Cultural Market, the most influential book market in the province, offering books from the country's 560 publishing houses.

Last year, 160,000 books were determined to be pirated in this market, as some of book sellers there lack copyright consciousness.

Feng Yan, a member of the anti-piracy union said that with China's entry to the World Trade Organization (WTO), said that only by meeting international standards can China fairly compete with foreign counterparts.
