The financial sector in East China's Zhejiang Province reported a stable performance last year, according to the provincial bureau of statistics.
The bureau said by the end of 2005, financial institutions in Zhejiang recorded 1.7 trillion yuan (US$211 billion) in outstanding loans, 14.3 percent more than the year-earlier level.
Last year the institutions made loans of 214 billion yuan, 29.5 billion yuan less than the previous year, the bureau added.
Meanwhile, savings deposits with the institutions amounted to 2.1 trillion yuan at the end of 2005, up 18.3 percent over the year-earlier level.
