China is scheduled to launch a customs quarantine inspection of all import disposable sanitary commodities beginning January 1, 2006 a rigid step to be taken to stop unqualified sanitary commodities from entering the country.
The decision was released in a bulletin jointly issued by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Commerce, aiming to tackle more and more disposable sanitary commodities inspected unqualified and harmful to consumers in China.
The disposable sanitary commodities, including toilet paper, face paper, handkerchief paper, napkin, sanitary towel, paper diaper, and paper clothing and bedsheet, have all been listed in the catalog of customs quarantine inspection to importing and exporting commodities.
All sanitary goods checked as unqualified in security, sanitation and packing will be banned to enter the Chinese market next year, the bulletin said.
