China recorded 2.3194 trillion yuan (US$286.3 billion) in tax revenues for the first three quarters of this year, up 393.7 billion yuan (US$48.6 billion), or 20.4 percent year on year, the State Administration of Taxation said Tuesday.
The figure, however, does not include tariff revenues and shrinking agricultural tax, the authorities said.
An official with the administration said tax revenues grew by 20.4 percent in the first quarter, 22.9 percent in the second quarter and 17.8 percent in the third quarter.
Judging from the revenues of value added tax, consumption tax, sales tax, and income tax, the growth rates are in line with the economic growth, said the official.
Revenues from value added tax, consumption tax and sales tax totaled 1.235 trillion yuan (US$152.4 billion) during the Jan.- Sept. period, up 194.3 billion yuan (US$23.9 billion), or 18.7 percent and accounting for 49.4 percent of the overall revenues.
Corporate and personal income tax revenues grew by 147.7 billion yuan (US$18.2 billion), or 33 percent to 594.7 billion yuan (US$73.4 billion) during the period, or 37.5 percent of the total increased revenues.
