The bilateral trade between India and China is set to pass 10 billion US dollars this year.
China may replace Japan as India's number one trade partner in northeast Asia.
A Chinese official says at present, Sino-Indian trade is in favor of India at 1.7 billion US dollars.
The Chinese Government believes this imbalance will correct itself in the next few years.
Sino-Indian trade volume reached 6.7 billion US dollars in the first six months of the year, an increase of more than 90 per cent over the same period last year.
