More than one-third of Hong Kong's young people are willing to work or study in China's mainland, according to a survey released by a local political party Thursday.
The survey, entitled "A survey on youth employment in Hong Kong" and conducted by the Hong Kong Progressive Alliance, has successfully surveyed more than 1,240 people belonging to the target age group of 16 to 25.
When asked if they would consider going to the mainland to study or work, 400 respondents, or 32 percent of the total, said they would, the survey report said.
Chairman of the party Ambrose Lau said Hong Kong's youths should take on a more open attitude towards living in the mainland.
"Some of the young people may not understand the developments of China's mainland very well. When they understand more, more of them will be willing to do business or study in the mainland," he said.
