Chinanews.cn reported on October 10 that an analysis report by the State Information Center predicted that China’s economy would continue to grow rapidly to the end of this year, but after the 2nd quarter next year it may slow down.
The report said the index of concurrent economic indicators was steadily rising, suggesting that the economy will continue relatively rapid growth this year, while the index of leading economic indicators has reached a peak.
State Information Center expert Zhang Yongjun said that although economic growth is forecast to slow down, it would not do so greatly but would maintain a relatively fast speed.
Chinanews.cn said overseas analysts agreed that China’s economy would not have a hard landing next year, the first of the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-2010) period, as long as the situation continues as normal.
