Chef Jiang Bing broke his own record when he roasted 133 lambs in 80 minutes on Saturday in Wuming County, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Jiang, from Quanzhou County, roasted 100 lambs at Qingxiu Hill in Nanning last November and 114 in the south China city of Shenzhen this January.
For the unenlightened, there is more to lamb-roasting than heaving meat onto a sizzling grill.
"I have to turn the lambs over and over to prevent them from being charred, and I have to add flavorings to the meat as I roast it. Each lamb weighs about 10 kilograms, and I have to turn each six times," he said.
Jiang has been working out every day for the past year to get in shape for his record-setting roasting races. For the past three months, he has done 300 push-ups and run 1,500 meters with four-kilogram weights on his legs every morning.
Jiang will host his next roast in Hong Kong's Victoria Park this September. He hopes the performance will earn him great reputation and help him become a top chef in his field.
