Lushan Mountain, a pot of historic remains melting into natural beauty, will add a helping of festivity next month.
Located in Jiujiang of east China's Jiangxi Province, Lushan Mountain will host a three-day international cultural and tourist festival starting on September 1.
"As a cultural landscape inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1996 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Lushan is undoubtedly attractive for domestic and foreign tourists," said Liu Jifu, vice mayor of Jiujiang.
The festival will include exhibitions to show the mountain's famous historical figures.
The late chairman Mao Zedong held three important Party meetings in 1959, 1961 and 1970 in Lushan.
The Lushan Symposium on China Taoism Culture and a friendship table tennis match between China and the Republic of Korea will run concurrently with the tourism fair, according to Chinadaily.
Lushan is the only mountain where visitors can find villas of 18 countries' styles and monuments to six religions.
The 302-square-kilometer scenic region features 470 scenic spots and more than 170 peaks.
