A plebiscite entrusted by Taiwan's New Party legislator Fung Hu-hsiang showed once again that some 47.5 percent of civilians in China's Taiwan Province support the principle of "one China, two systems", setting a new record in history.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's "Mainland Affairs Council" also published the result of its plebiscite that indicates only 13 percent of Taiwan civilians support the "one China, two systems" principle.
The gaping gap between the two polls should be attributed to that the New Party's poll is made under no precondition of instigation, while the poll carried out by the "Mainland Affairs Council" was intentionally tipped off, according to Ding Ting-yu, consultant of a Taiwan public opinion company.
According to him, the behavior of the Taiwan authorities has landed the island province in a predicament filled with all sorts of contradictions. The masses of the people in Taiwan have an inane concept of "State" and lack of interior coherence. He also pointed out that in this poll, over 50 percent of women, the highly educated and the 20 to 29 age-group of Taiwanese support the principle of "one China, two systems".
