E! Entertainment's list of the world's 25 sexiest pop divas included Coco Lee from Hong Kong!
It is great to see an Asian celebrity like Coco Lee rank No.15, ahead of pop divas like Kylie Minogue (No.18), Jennifer Lopez (No.20) and other big names.
Singer Madonna finished last on the list.
Hopefully the honoree will gain wider recognition in the international arena. Friends from all over have congratulated Coco on her winning, nicknaming her 'No.15'.
The singer says she is not only pleased herself, but also proud for Chinese people all over the world. She said her new title will motivate her to work harder this year.
Coco released her last album in September 2006. Over the past few years, the media has focused on her private life more than her career. It has long been rumored the star will soon be marrying her businessman fiancé Bruce Rockowitz.
Latest media reports online say Coco Lee is to resume work this March when she will start recording her new album, scheduled to be released this May.
Coco was born in Hong Kong but grew up in California. She had her first taste of stardom after becoming the runner-up in a singing talent show in 1993 in Hong Kong.
With both looks and talent, the singer started a very successful singing career, gaining worldwide exposure.
She was the first Asian artist to sign contract with Sony Music Entertainment and the four-time and only Chinese on FHM magazine, reputed as the sexiest R&B queen in Asia.
The Asian Pop Diva is also the first Chinese person to perform at the Oscars, singing the Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song, 'A Love Before Time' from the movie 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' at the 73rd Academy Awards.
Lee got her nickname "Coco" from being an admirer of CoCo Chanel. ELLE magazine used to say this Coco Lee has great fashion sense much like Coco Chanel, the international fashion icon.
