A five-day photographic exhibition of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, the second of its kind, was inaugurated in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Monday to promote cultural bond between the region and Nepal.
Nepali Minister for Information and Communication Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that "this exhibition will further flourish the historical and cultural relationship between Tibet and Nepal."
"I am glad to inaugurate this exhibition and would like to thank organizers for providing this honor," said Minister Mahara, who stressed the "one-China" policy of the Nepali government.
The exhibition was co-organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Nepal, Foreign Cultural Exchange Association of Tibet Autonomous Region and Federation of Literacy and Art Circles of Tibet Autonomous Region.
The photographic exhibition includes 121 pictures taken by 42 photographers.
"Due to the scale limitation of this exhibition, these works are not able to cover an overall presentation of Tibet. However, we could still have a clear look of the magnificence of the beauty of natural landscapes, variety of Tibetan folk culture and folk customs," organizers said in a press release.
According to organizers, works shown in the exhibition reflect new achievements made since the reform and opening up to the outside world, economic development, social changes, cultural prosperity, as well as good ecological preservation, freedom of religious belief and changing life of the common people.
The exhibition will last till Jan. 16 in Nepali capital Kathmandu.
