World famous movie star Jackie Chan fulfilled the concept of "Green Olympics" on Friday during his visit to an exhibition of traditional Chinese cultural heritage by picking up a cigarette butt and throwing it into the dustbin after he came out of an exhibition room.

"Every one of us should protect the environment," he said.

Jackie Chan, accompanied by famous CCTV anchor Bai Yansong, visited six exhibition rooms that represent Beijing, Sichuan, Hongkong, Hubei, Shaanxi and Jiangxi.

"I am proud of being a Chinese," he said during the visit. "I hope Chinese media enhance the report of Chinese traditional culture." He suggested that the exhibition should be maintained after the Beijing Olympic Games.

"As a Chinese, I am very interested in the exhibition and I am sure that foreigners will show more interests," said the movie star.

Held in the Olympic Park during the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, the exhibition called "China Story" displays cultures of different areas and nationalities through various forms like real objects, handicraft, photos, videos etc.

"Both Jackie Chan and I are the registered volunteers of 'China Story'. I feel 'China Story' is like China's DNA. The cultures exhibited here may not demonstrate a whole picture of China, while they definitely have their unique features," Bai Yansong said.

The exhibition will be formally opened on August 9. Domestic and foreign visitors may enjoy traditional Chinese culture in the Olympic Center District.
