Shanghai residents have a rare opportunity to learn about the
military history, art and culture of Italy at the Ancient Italian
Armor and Weapons exhibition.
The exhibition showcases 57 martial artifacts from the
collection of Angelo Marzoli from Brescia, including suits of
armor, halberds and fire arms. The collection includes decorative
pieces used in ceremonies and parades, as well as arms used in
battle. All the items exemplify the remarkable technical expertise
and refined aesthetic taste characteristic of the master Italian
craftsman.
The exhibition aims to boost the Chinese people's understanding
of Italy's heritage by providing them with a comprehensive overview
of its ancient military tradition. The exhibition opened in Beijing
in early November as part of the Year of Italy in China.
