Donations and relief supplies have been pouring into Sichuan. And the Sichuan Charity Federation has already received more than 800 million yuan as well as more than 500 million yuan worth of goods. Local authorities say the distribution process is going well.
Chen Kefu, Deputy Director of Civil Affairs Dept, Sichuan Prov. Gov't, said, "If donors have specified a particular beneficiary...the donations will in such cases go directly there. The rest of the donations will be used to buy food, tents and medicine...which the survivors most urgently need."
The whole process of the allocation of funds and delivery of goods is undertaken under strict supervision to make sure every single penny is spent to help survivors. Every donation is registered, and the donors can check the website to see exactly where their donation was sent.

Chen also said, "Every day we make our plans to transport and distribute relief supplies in counties and villages. The items are delivered promptly and based on the needs of the victims."
A receipt is issued by the local organization on the receiving end once the supplies reach their destination. The names of those who have handled the supplies, and the license number of the vehicle used for transportation...are all included on the receipt in case of an inspection.
